As I have mentioned in my earlier blog about the exhibition hall that had more than 380 booths with all the green products worth taking a look at and start using them. After talking to most of the exhibitors, I was assured that there are tons of great minds at work to create sustainable products with lots of innovative ideas.
The SG Blocks Harbinger House – a 1,700 sq.ft. two-story, single-family show house was made from reuse shipping containers was something that caught everybody’s eye. Every aspect of the home’s design, build, materials and features were evaluated and documented to assure the home’s Green Point and LEED for Homes certification. Being built right on the tradeshow floor, the home was open to a series of outdoor living spaces and decks, showcasing a dramatic outdoor kitchen with energy efficient Whirlpool appliances, and a stunning garden of native and naturalized plants and mature olive trees.
Whirlpool was there with the range of it’s cool and exciting energy efficient appliances was also among the prominent ones. The kitchen burner cook-top was a clear difference for stylish design and low-profile, full-width grates for powerful performance. Refrigerator and Dishwasher was also build with same points in mind. Element Four water mill was something worth seeing. ‘Zero Emission Houses’ had their booth mentioning all the possible products that we use in daily life with reduced or no emission. GEO Bulb with ultra bright LED light bulbs was a innovation in itself with life expectancy of bulb around 10 years. There was quite a lot of solar energy use seen at different booths and different products out there. Some of the other interesting things were; a bike that creates clean water, the world’s most energy efficient computer, and a green roof garden.
There were lots and lots of things to look at and each product has it’s own qualification for being innovative and sustainable.
